Great accommodation with lovely friendly service from staff

Absolutely perfect for anyone wanting to get away from everything. It is so peaceful and quiet and the luxury of having the pool area almost to yourself is quiet bizarre and delightful. We arrived on 5th April having booked a standard bungalow and was upgraded to a bungalow with a bali bed by Daniel, who has been great and always ready to assist or advise about the area, restaurants or in fact any question that you might have. The 2 bedroom bungalow with 2 shower rooms and lovely private outside space is amazing, so you can go out by the pool in the morning and afternoon spend on your own private terrace if you wish. So far I can not fault the rooms and service we have received at Bungalows Colorada Mar. A small minus point you need to be aware of is the pool is 1.4m deep all around with separate baby pool, so perhaps not ideal if you are not a good swimmer or prefer to wade into the pool. This area of Playa Blanca is quiet and you need to ge aware the walk along the promenade takes 30 minutes to get to the marina and probably another 20-30 minutes to get to Playa Blanca centre so if you are not that mobile and don't hire a car be prepared for the walk or get bus/taxi for 1 euro 30 cents or about 4 euros respectively each way. Also walking on the promenade it is very windy. There are not too many 'eateries' close by so again be prepared to travel into the centre for a variety. However after all of the above as I said the accommodation and service from the staff has been first class and would say if you want peace and quiet from your holiday then book the place.

Hate hotels 🤣

These self catering apartments are great. They’re sited near the edge of the nature reserve and some lovely beaches. The walk to the beaches is dry dusty and volcanic but absolutely worth it. It’ll get you fit hungry and thirsty. Be prepared for some wind and occasional big waves. Also there’s a small supermarket shops and eateries nearby. The apartment was clean and well prepared. The staff Katherine and Joaquim are brilliant, very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We’re going back soon 🤩

High quality accommodation

Beautifully appointed bungalows, comfortable and clean. We stayed here for a week in January and were very well impressed. Great staff, parking and lovely pool. Would perhaps stay in one of the bungalows with a sea view next time but we found it excellent.

Just fantastic...

Absolutely fantastic bungalows. In an amazing location, we opted for a Jacuzzi plus, I recommend highly. The facilities within the bungalows are 1st class, with everything you need for self-catering. A stone throw away from the beautiful coast and walks, well stocked supermarket, restaurants and bar also near. Will definitely be coming back !

Relaxing stay

We stayed at the beginning of September for one week. We booked our holiday through Thomas Cook flying from Glasgow Prestwick Airport. All went well and we arrived not long after 7.30pm. We had chosen a shuttle transfer through Thomas Cook, with Holiday Taxis - what a mistake! We waited almost an hour on other people at the airport, then dropped off at so many hotels we lost count - eventually arriving at the bungalows at 9.45pm!! Next time we will take a taxi. The lovely receptionist asked us if we needed anything at the nearby supermarket as it was closing at 10pm. She then took us very quickly through the grounds and across the road to the supermarket, opening and locking the gates as we went. She then waited on us and took us back to our bungalow then checked us in. We would never have found our way on our own in time - thank you so much (I forget her name - Katerine maybe - she was from Germany). You wouldn't get such personal service at a 5 star resort! The bungalows were spotlessly clean and very spacious. We had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a large outdoor terrace at the back of the bungalow. One of the bedrooms had a door opening onto the terrace. We were steps away from the swimming pool and we were lucky to have a comfortable Bali bed all to ourselves! In fact we had the pool area to ourselves most of the time - it felt like our own private villa! There was also a Jacuzzi and a small children's pool. A couple of things that would have made our stay a bit easier would have been a chopping board and a large sharp knife - the one we had couldn't cut a tomato! The location was excellent, if you don't mind a walk to dinner - 5 minutes to the promenade and beach then about 15 mins to Marina Rubicon. There was also a couple of bars and restaurants across the road beside the supermarket. We had some drinks there but didn't have food. Playa Blanca is a lovely quiet resort with some very nice restaurants. We look forward to coming back again and will definitely return to these lovely bungalows.
