Affordable and nice
We have been in this hotel twice. It used to be mainly for Finnish pagage tourist but now they have contract with other countries too. The hotel is basic and the cheapest option when reserving from Finland. For the money we paid, it was good. Big rooms, which were cleaned well, good balcony where to have breakfast. Nice size pool and not too far out from the harbour area. Nice restaurants near by. No interaction with the staff here, very limited pool bar menu. If you wat greek hospitality, not to find here unfortunately. We still enjoyed our holiday staying Tropical studios.
Decent place but very rude miserable owner don't stay here no games or inflatables in pool no food available long walk from town.young lady behind the bar is nice that is the only good thing here met some people staying next door at aliki who said their place was very nice
Quiet, relaxing & peaceful. Bit of a walk from the harbour
I visited here on 22nd Sept - 29th Sept with a group of 4 and it was very good for what we paid. It was quiet, peaceful and very scenic. We had a self catering twin room apartment/studio, we got a good deal so we were happy with the rooms. We were on the first floor, rooms 202 and 201 - these were front facing so it was right on the road and facing another hotel with nothing very pretty to look at but not that that bothered us too much, we didn't spend too much time in the room or balcony and if we did, we weren't too bothered about the people walking past to the harbour. If you would prefer a better view, I'd recommend asking for a mountain view in a higher up room. The maids, however, are fantastic. I cannot fault the cleanliness of the rooms and they cleaned every day bar one day. They were brilliant. There is a bar(ish) area around the pool but it is VERY basic, the woman was hardly there and it wasn't very lively or easy to always grab a drink so that would be my only complaint. One day she turned up and left with no one being able to buy a tea or coffee all day. My parents, in the room next door, had no electricity because the fuse went and we couldn't report it to her either which meant we did our own fixing! We ended up always walking to the harbour or bakery if we wanted a quick drink/breakfast/lunch. I have to say you don't feel very welcome in that aspect but then again, I'd like to think maybe it was due to the time of year? Who knows! The pool is very lovely and probably Tropical Studio's best feature. It was, however, freezing when we were there but again it may be because the temperature wasn't as hot as the summer sun, despite it being early 30s. I would imagine in the summer it would be absolutely lovely. On the plus side of this time of year, weather was sunny, warm, we were lucky to have no rain and you had absolutely no problem in securing a sun bed. You could easily relax in the sun all day! And this is the only place the WiFi is any good, it does not work in the rooms. There are lots of cats around here as well to be warned, I am a cat person so this does not bother me but for those who aren't very animal friendly, I'd advise staying elsewhere. If you're like me, however, you'll really enjoy the company! They're very friendly and sweet. They don't hang around the whole trip, obviously, but we had a little friend join us at the pool every day and he wasn't afraid to go up to everyone on their sunbeds. This hotel is basic but it definitely does the job. If you're looking for a holiday where you want to be out and about in the day & evening, then this is your place. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from the harbour so if you do have walking difficulties, I'd definitely avoid this place, we got quite tired by the end of it! There are plenty of other resorts that are within easy walking distance from the harbour and I think we will be trying them next year as we spent so much time around the harbour. TIPS: - Do visit Perivoli around the corner from the hotel, it's absolutely lovely! Cheap, huge portions and amazing quality food. - Gemini was my favourite restaurant along the sea front - book as it gets busy! - The castle is lovely to have lunch and a drink at during the day, although can be a bit of a steep walk so be warned! - Villa Rossa is a beautiful hotel & bar/restaurant on the beach front, we loved to pop there for a night cap on the walk back. -Water Taxis at the harbour will take you to Valtos Beach (around the corner) if you want to enjoy a day on the beach, they do return tickets for 4euros pp, they come every half hour and go on until late evening so you can always spend a day/night there - very recommended!
Just returned from our second trip to Parga, both stays at Tropical Studios. Really good price for what you get but it's a mixed bag. If you're after splendour, modern amenities, luxury or grandeur then best look elsewhere. Situated opposite Elena Hotel, it's a 10-15 minute walk to the harbour either via main road or the back street. The studios are a good size, with a balcony. The best views overlooking the pool area. Very clean with TV, fridge, kettle, toaster, coffee percolator & various utensils & cutlery. Bathroom is very basic & the shower is not so great. Quite small to shower in & not much flexibility to angle for best coverage. Some rooms you may have to hand hold the shower attachment itself. Bit of temperature roulette at times too, with hot spurts arriving during a cool shower. Watch out. Air con & safe are payable locally, around €50 for both when we stayed. Restaurants are quite close, particularly the magnificent Perivoli. The pool area is fantastic & the real reason for our return. Very clean pool, lots of beds, great views of the mountains & olive groves all around. Very serene, birdsong the main accompaniment. Bar for drinks & refreshments. Try not to disturb the owner though with your orders. I'll be charitable & describe her manner as reserved. WiFi ok around pool area but not anywhere else. If you like cat's then this place will be great, lots of lovely cats & kittens around to coo over & spoil. We paid a great price for the stay & were prepared for the quirks, the good outweighing the bad. Demanding divas should look elsewhere.
Very Sub Tropical
Stayed two weeks here..I love Parga and its people but these studios do not give you a feeling of belonging..For a recently built premises they really are very basic with absolutely no atmosphere at all.. with a small pool area and bar and one member of staff who even isn't Greek left me and my wife very underwelmed. If you really want that special Greek experience give these studios a wide birth..
