HORRIBLE

Detailed review from check in and duration of 6 nights stay: CHECK IN We arrived from Canada (15 hour flight) at 10pm and we didn’t get into our room until almost 2am. We booked through booking.com (which is their partnership website) and secured a nightly rate. Upon check in the lady at the desk Nisha and the manager on duty Musafa said the rate we booked does not match what they have at the hotel and said it’s our problem as the customers to deal with booking.com as they wouldn’t check us in and let us pay the rate we booked days in advance. Musafa the manager on duty was extremely combative, rude, disrespectful, and yelling back at me saying it’s our problem and we need to fix it and there’s nothing he can do…all of this in front my two young children and my elderly mother. After going back and forth for so long, my husband had to make an international call on his phone to booking.com as the hotel was forcing us to “figure this out by ourselves” but wouldn’t provide us with a phone to call. After hours of waiting and talking to several customer service reps, another manager on duty, Abdullah came on shift and he was much more helpful than Musafa and Nisha. Abdullah provided us with solutions and finally we were able to check in and secure the rate we got on booking.com. We travel a lot and this is by far THE WORST EXPERIENCE AT A LUXURY HOTEL. Musafa is absolutely incompetent and not suitable to be working in the hospitality industry. I’ve never encountered a manager who was so disrespectful to a woman/mother and just offered ZERO help or any solutions to help rectify the situation. His attitude was very “not my problem, you deal with it”. I understand sometimes booking with a middle man or third party website there could be discrepancies, however Musafa said his hands are tied and didn’t help at all. He escalated the situation further and made it worse. But as soon as he was done his shift and Abdullah came on, the situation was rectified within the hour. THE ROOM Finally we were brought up to our room and opened the door to the prestigious 2 bedroom luxury suite we booked. And what do I see? An EXTREMELY outdated, dirty room that we did NOT book. At this point it was already almost 3am, my kids and Mom were exhausted so I decided ok fine, I’ll deal with this later today and stay here so we can get rest. I was about to shower when I saw the bathtub was disgusting, it had grime and dirt, the toilet had hairs all over. The kitchen sink was again, filthy. So I called reception, told them the issues and they sent up the housekeeping manager. We showed him the issues, and he shrugged it off and said that’s how it’s supposed to look and said maybe tomorrow he could send someone to “polish” the tub. Lol it didn’t need polishing, it needed bleach and a scrub. So because it was disgusting and not the room we paid for, I decided not to settle and put my kids in the nasty room so I called Abdullah and he said there was nothing he could do till later in the day. I said no, after everything we went through, fix this. Then another manager on duty Umer called me and helped fix the problem. He provided a temporary solution that worked and the next day we finally got the room we booked. The room was nice, looks like the pictures. ELEVATORS Be prepared to wait long for the elevators to the ground floor or 8th floor (amenities) because the wait is LONG FOOD The downstairs cafe / restaurants are pricey and is pretty mediocre. I got a simple fries and burger and it was dry and tasteless SERVICE The only upside is the housekeeping people are very nice, very helpful, respectful. Always greeted us and helped. Same with the bellboys, super helpful LOCATION It is in the centre of Dubai however it’s still a long cab ride to business bay, Dubai mall, marina, etc. there’s a gas station and Burger King close by but besides that, I didn’t like the area We’re coming back to dubai next year and will definitely not be returning to mercure. There’s lots of other hotels that are luxury and similar in price so don’t book here

A great experience

The suites / apartments are of good size, location is awesome (on the main Sheikh Zayed Road, just next to metro station of Dubai Internet City). the facilities available are good (squash court, restaurants, cafe, pool, etc.). The breakfast however was very basic, can have more variety. The staff was good but service was a bit slow may be due to rush hours.

Norman,masiur and Rosalie amazing team.

The hotel is very nice...comfortable bed...cleanliness is on top shape. Housekeeping team cleans my room on daily basis.when it comes to sanitation they are number one on it.thank you to this jolly team namely Norman,masiur supervise by ms.rosalie.they are amazing when it comes to guest service.

Mercure al Barsh one of my favourite place. Once come in Dubai first choose in mercure. Housekeeping doing very good job. Yasas Basam are great to take care. I must thank mr. Atik to keep on touch our entire stay. Must come back very soon. Thank you
