Nice adults only hotel

Lovely hotel and a fabulous holiday! A 15-20 minute transfer so not too long. A great location just 100 m off the main road. Plenty of bars and restaurants to visit so we went B&B basis. The room was well equipped with fridge, safe, hair drier, coffee machine and kettle. A bit of a strange layout as the sink area was right next to the door which meant if one of us came in earlier we had to be careful not to expose the other if they were getting out of the shower/ in front of the sink! We opted for our own private pool, a bit disappointing as it was tiny (see photo) and unfortunately there was only sun in the morning. The main pool didn’t get too busy so we just moved over in the afternoon. The outside area in our room next to the pool was tiny…. You could open the sliding door to create a small terrace but it was just about wise enough to sit on and dangle your feet in the pool! The pool was nice, not too cold. We visited when it was super hot. So we made use of the pool side service for drinks and snacks. There is a little supermarket 20 m down the road and a fruit shop in the other direction 5 minutes down the road. Staff were friendly and remembered drinks at breakfast. A nice breakfast buffet selection and omlettes (included in price) a couple of items has a surcharge but was worth it. Can’t comment on the food on the evening as we went out each night. They offered a tasting menu but we decided not to dine there. They offer spa treatments and massages but can’t comment on these as we didn’t use any of the facilities. All in all a great little hotel.

A little oasis with fantastic staff

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this beautiful hotel. It’s like a little oasis! Our (very spacious) room was tucked away above the spa, where it was very quiet. They kindly gave us a free room upgrade, so we had a huge in-room hot tub which was a nice surprise! And the balcony was the perfect spot for watching the sunset. The pool area was lovely, with comfy loungers/beanbags and lots of greenery. And the QR codes make it easy to order drinks or snacks straight to your sun lounger. The spa was also great, and you can book the pool/sauna for just the two of you, which is a nice touch. We booked half-board and the food was excellent. The breakfast buffet had plenty of choice, and you can also order a dish from the menu at no extra cost. I was very impressed by the evening buffet. I find that buffet dinners can be hit-and-miss, but everything was delicious, especially the Greek dishes. There was also live music by the bar on a couple of nights, which added a really nice atmosphere. Special shout-out to the evening bartender who made the most fantastic cocktails! We also ate at the Nobile rooftop restaurant one evening. We had the seven-course tasting menu which was very nice, but there was quite a lengthy gap between the courses. We were there over three hours – had we known it would be that long, I think we probably would have booked an earlier table. But it was a great experience nonetheless, and the food was wonderful. The final word goes to go to the staff, who were amazing. The reception team, the porter, the waiting staff, the spa team – everyone was so friendly, smiley, and couldn’t do enough for you. I’d definitely recommend Contessina Suites for a chilled-out break; we had the best time.

Great experience

The staff have to be the first thing to mention. Nothing is too much for them, always smiling and happy, always happy to chat and give advice. The rooms are really modern, not a lot of storage space though. Powerful showers, and nice soft towels.

A lovely long weekend getaway

We stayed for a relaxing long weekend as friends; we were greeted with a fabulous reception, drinks, towels, and snacks whilst checking in. Our room wasn’t ready on arrival as we’d arrived on an early flight, but we were provided an area to change which was considerate. Lunch was tasty, although we never tried the food in the evenings; drinks were also well prepared with a good variety and incredibly easy to order with QR codes throughout. The hotel was small, calm and quiet with a boutique vibe. The rooms were well decorated, clean and the amenities you would expect - we opted for a private pool which was nice, it just missed an outdoor terrace too. The spa was a wonderful treat, and to have sole use was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast was hit and miss for us, and there were some small areas for improvement - one of the egg chairs broken in the spa, the outdoor pools requiring a deep clean to remove the stains around the edges, some rips in cushions meant this wasn’t quite a 5* in my opinion. I’m fully aware these are small issues, and not what I would consider to be reasons not to come. Instead just a few areas to be improved on, during the lower seasons. I’d highly recommend the hotel, the area was great, and it was a perfect long weekend.

One of the best holidays ever

Stayed here in August for a holiday to remember! We were celebrating an anniversary which the hotel made a fuss over us for, and then the reception went and help my fiancé plan the proposal!! We left engaged and they gave us more gifts!! The lunch is really nice as well (the hot dog is huge), and there’s some comments about it being pricey, and I do agree with that. We would have spent a bit more time in the hotel if things were a little cheaper. Big hello to Helen in the restaurant, and Sarah at the front (I promised I’d do a review, sorry it’s late!) The room we were in was beautifully decorated, but missing some storage place for the suitcases as ours didn’t find under the table. Some small things that didn’t put a damp on the holiday at all though - the STAFF absolutely shine through every step of the way. Planning a return for the honeymoon!
