Härligt hotell precis vid havet ☀️

Mycket trevligt hotell med ett superbra läge vid fina stranden Plaka Beach. Hotellet har ett fint poolområde med en trevlig poolbar som serverar enklare rätter. Går man bara över gatan från hotellet så kommer man rakt ner på stranden. Hotellet serverar en god frukost och en jättegod buffé med grekiska och internationella rätter. Personalen som arbetar i restaurangen har verkligen tagit god hand om oss och överträffat alla våra förväntningar när det gäller att vara proffsiga och omtänksamma. Vi är supernöjda med vår vistelse på Plaza Beach hotell och vi kommer säkerligen att komma tillbaka hit igen!

Lugn och ro

Underbart hotell långt från Naxos stads hets. Här bor man fräscht och bra nära fin strand och härlig pool. Långa promenader längs stranden och en bit bort finns många restauranger. Buss till Naxos stad går (minst) en gång i halvtimmen dit man kanske vill åka på kvällen. Personalen ger ypperlig service!

Nice Greek Hotel

3 gången som vi bor på detta hotell. Utmärkt läge nära stranden och ändhållplatsen på busslinjen som går in till Naxos-stad varje halvtimme. Jättefint poolområde även med barnpool och bubbelpool. Jätte serviceminded personal I poolbaren, goda drinkar, sådär mat. Området är byggt I Cycladisk stil med vit puts och sten. Mycket trevliga rum med bra städning och Ac. Nästan alla rum har utsikt mot pool och strand

Trevligt hotell vid Plaka Beach

Lugnt, fräscht och trevligt hotell vid Plaka Beach på Naxos. Hotellet tillhandahåller god service (t ex tvätt och biluthyrning) och har egen restaurang och bar. Man kan gå mellan poolen och beachen och bada beroende på vad man känner för. Det finns några restauranger i närheten av hotellet. Det finns en bussförbindelse till Naxos stad där busshållsplatsen är i anslutning till hotellet. Hotellet har en minimarket med det allra nödvändigaste.

Still the Best Beach House in Greece: Plaza Beach Hotel, Naxos

From Sept 10 to 18 we flew from Athens to Naxos for 8 nights at Plaza Beach Hotel on Plaka Beach, which we enjoyed in 2018. Again this year we loved it. It's the best combination of a great beach and a comfy hotel with good service we've found, after visiting a dozen Greek islands and towns. And: location, location! Plaka Beach is one of the longest and most beautiful in Greece (photos 1, 2). When we flew into Naxos, the hotel had a taxi waiting at the airport and in 15 minutes we were on the sand at Plaka Beach. Reception kindly arranged this by email in advance for a minimal fee, along with a perfect room (they worked hard to meet our special requests). Be sure to ask for a second floor room with ocean view; the sunsets on your balcony alone are worth it (photos 3, 4). The rooms are especially clean and comfortable. Reception also arranged a good rental car with Maragas Cars at a reasonable price, delivered right to us. Everything can be billed to the room and paid by credit card on check-out. Ilias Papazisis and all the restaurant staff are very kind and friendly. Ilias is a special friend who helped me a lot when I began to study Greek in 2018. He even remembered me this time, four years later, after we had to wait so long for Covid to travel – and again he helped me with tips on Greek pronunciation. Restaurant seating is outdoors by the pool with good shade cover available (photo 5). Breakfast is excellent, a large buffet with hand-baked Greek specialties; one morning it's fresh tomato pie, the next it's cheese pie with herbs. Locally-grown items like tomatoes and cheese in Naxos are incredibly flavorful. There are also several egg, bacon, and sausage dishes, delicious Greek bread, chocolate and other croissants, cakes, yogurt, cereals, fruit, even cappuccino. Next to the restaurant is the spacious swimming pool surrounded by shaded lounges (photos 6, 7) and an outdoor bar. There is also a well-stocked Mini Market that sells tickets for the Naxos public KTEL Bus to Naxos Chora port and other stops with eateries in between (no tickets sold on the bus). The bus stops in front of the hotel and runs frequently until late at night. On the beach, hotel staff bring you water and make it easy to order food and drink on the sand from the bar. Tip: To get seating, be on the beach by 9 or 10 am in September to leave your towels on lounges, though it doesn’t officially open until 11 am (photos 8, 9). What about August? No idea. To be honest, we recommend September for Greek beaches in general; beaches are too crowded for us in July and especially August when all Europe is on vacation. Naxos beaches are less crowded the further south they are from Naxos Town aka Chora (the port), and Plaka Beach is a good 45 minute drive south. There are several beaches even further south but more difficult to reach. We rented a car this time to see the five beaches further south of Plaka toward Pyrgaki; the roads are so hard this took five hours. We saw very pretty beaches but many were a tough climb to reach and had no shade (like “Hawaii Beach,” Naxos). Most require a hike carrying chairs and umbrellas; the sun bakes down even in September. "Let's go back to our hotel!" we decided, where lounges, palapas and a huge pool were calling our names.
