Charming small hotel

MARE boutique hotel is a charming small hotel located on the beach of Georgioupolis. In my opinion, it is one of the best hotels in town. The Food is delicious, the rooms are immaculate and Nikos in the reception was very helpful.

Spotless rooms and amazing service.

The cleanest room i've stayed in be it on Holiday or UK Hotels. All of the staff, cleaners, receptionists and managers were an absolute pleasure to stay with and went out of their way to help and make us feel comfortable. Patrick the guitarist from Manchester was amazing too we had a great night with him and Jason. Have recommended to friends and will most definitely be back if not later this year then next summer.

Not a 4 star.

We stayed here for 2 weeks but would have been better if we had only booked 1 week, the hotel was very clean and tidy and the staff were always busy and friendly. The bar area by the pool was very small with seating for about 14 people including bar stools . Most people would get a drink and take it back to the room. The restaurant was also small so you would have to wait for a quiet time to get a table. The reason I have only give it an average score is because we were lucky if we got lukewarm food , most of the time everything was cold and it would have been better if there had been a microwave to reheat stuff. We did start to eat out into the second week has we was starting to dread going to the restaurant, also when it was raining you had to try to avoid the bucket which was catching the water leaking through the ceiling.

Avoid at all costs

The only reason the hotel is getting a 1 star is because of the lovely bar and restaurant staff. The reception staff had appalling customer service skills. - Food is the same most days. It seems lunch is being reused for dinner. It consist mainly of chips, rice, spaghetti and some sort of meat. - There was very little selection of food and because of this, we were eating out every night which was costing us a lot of money. - The food is not labelled and therefore we cannot see what we are eating or allergies etc. - Online it states that you can have fresh snacks throughout the day but there has only been wraps available sat in the bar. - All inclusive bar finishes at 11pm and then you have to pay. - Cappuccino extra charge despite saying included on the menu. - There was no hot water for the first 2 days. - On the second day it rained during the night and we had a leak in the ceiling. I woke up to the leak and put towels down. It had leaked into our trainers ruining them. We informed reception and they said maintenance would come but no one has. There was no apology or reimbursement for this. - First day ‘do not disturb’ or ‘please clean’ did not work on the door. - The pool was filthy and is not cleaned, it was green on one side and there is rubbish or leaves in there. - Minimal seating downstairs near the bar and pool, which results in having to go to the room or go out. - It states in the welcome book that the sister hotel has an indoor pool we can use. As it had been raining we went there but reception said they didn’t. We said this to our reception and he said you can’t, despite it being in their welcome book. - The area for the hotels beach has not been cleaned. It was difficult to walk on the sand as there was rubbish and rubble all around. The hotels next door were sweeping there’s and we would expect the same with this hotel. - In the last few days there was no water at all so we were unable to brush our teeth, flush the toilet or shower. Then the water went luke warm for a day and then cold again. This was an occurring issue. - There was a hair in our food. - Cleaning service had replaced our bed sheets with dirty ones. - Air conditioning and the TV did not work in our room. - It states there is an entertainment programme posted up in reception but there is no entertainment. - Others were regularly smoking cannabis around the pool area and it’s not pleasant to sit there and smell it. We reported these concerns to report and they said we could move to the sister hotel; which had the same food, the same cleaning service and same issues with hot water. We decided against this with 2 days remaining and tried to report to Love Holidays but were unsuccessful as Mare Boutique were not willing to support our complaint.

Great comfortable stay

Great hotel and amazing views! happy with the service and food, rooms were very comfortable. value for money deal overall, we will come back! we also opted for the in house transit - they have cool day trip deals to beaches in the area, make sure we check them out!
