All we needed
An overall fully satisfactory experience. Friendly and helpful staff and service. Breakfast was very good: excellent variety of choice and food quality very good. Calm And relaxed atmosphere. Lovely swimming pool. 5 mins walk from two lovely beaches and starting point for hiking. Room was nothing exceptional but clean and silent. You can have beach towels for beach and swimming pool, and change them any time you want. Parking spots available for free across the road. Would definitely consider going back!
It says on the hotel headline that English is spoken. I have yet to find an english speaking member of the team. The staff are helpful but not friendly and the food is good and well prepared if you are on a half board menu. It is definitely a German frequented hotel which isn’t bad as they were all friendly and polite which is more to said for some English hotels we have stayed at. Downsides are the culture at the hotel .... v regimented and a lock on the piano says it all. We have , however, enjoyed our stay so far and are here till Saturday Jack
This hotel is in an excellent location with two small, lovely beaches a short walk away, however I’d definitely recommend hiring a car if staying at this hotel in order to explore the area properly. There is plenty of free parking at the hotel and in every town we visited, even at the height of the summer season. The communal areas and pool were very attractive and excellently maintained, however our room was disappointing - fairly small and dark with no view, the fridge was broken, the floors weren’t cleaned during the week so they got very sandy and the toiletries weren’t replaced once they’d run out. Had poor quality sleep due to the heat and mosquitoes as the A/C was inadequate at this time of year. When we were staying there was a mixture of families and couples of various ages and nationalities. The overall atmosphere was nice and relaxed, guests kept themselves to themselves mostly and were fairly quiet. We never struggled to get a pair of sun beds by the pool, regardless of the time of day - this is not the sort of place people rush to save themselves a sun bed. The staff were polite enough, however bar service was often poor and unwelcoming and service at dinner was very mixed. Reception staff weren’t particularly friendly although they were always helpful enough, especially considering the language barrier (we spoke no Spanish) so can’t complain there. It was disappointing, however, to have to pay for some unexpected extras on arrival, like €18 to use the safe in our bedroom (non-refundable and required in cash). Overall I’d say this was more of a 3* quality hotel, rather than a 4*. Saying that, we only really paid a 3* price (flight and half-board package deal through lastminute.com two weeks beforehand) so all in all we weren’t too disappointed. Would still recommend this hotel if you get a good price as we had a lovely holiday staying here and exploring the stunning surrounding area.
A quiet, relaxed holiday at Prinsotel, Mal Pas
We wanted a quiet holiday and my word we got it. There are very few amenities for children apart from the pool, tennis court, beach and playground all within easy reach. In the evening there is no entertainment, apart from the occasional guitar player. The hotel is very good, the grounds are kept in beautiful condition and the food is outstanding. We would have liked a chest of drawers and adequate AC in our room, but apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Prinsotel Mal Pas, which by the way, is about a 60 minute drive from the airport.
