Vi åkte med barn och vi kände inte oss välkomna. Poolen är inte lämplig för små barn. Receptionen var aldrig bemannad. När vi påtalade dom brister som fanns så blev bemötandet oerhört otrevligt. Jag anser att ac;n borde fungera. Dom som jobbar där var väldigt trevlig mot dom äldre gästerna. St James var vi hos varje dag och där rekommenderar jag alla barnfamiljer att bo
Another fantastic holiday
A much quieter holiday this year due to the current situation. However, we felt very safe here on Rhodes and particularly at this lovely hotel. As usual spotlessly clean, with extra care being taken with masks, sanitiser etc. Food in the restaurant is excellent - well cooked and presented. Swimming pool area is quiet with plenty of sun beds and the pool is sparkling. Choice of double room, family apartment or studio apartment (some self catering facilities). If you want a quiet holiday, with good food and a relaxing time this is the hotel for you. Popi and her lovely family can't do enough to make their guests stay is the best.
The hotel is small, family run business in Lardos, a short walk away from the beach. The property clean to the perfection everywhere.Brilliant view to the garden (which is a tiny piece of Eden).The food was perfect.(5 stars!).Most of the stuff speaks good English.Everyone in the hotel is really nice and helpful. The only negative I can coming up with ,is the “double bed”, which was two single bed next to each other.Apart of this , the place is perfect for a quiet, relaxing summer holiday.(NOT FOR PARTY GOERS!!!) Thank you for everything Sun Shine Hotel.Absolute BRILLIANT!!
Stayed here multiple times a few years ago, with my now-wife. Lovely family-run place. So friendly. Totally recommended to everyone. So chilled out. Great bar. Amazing food. Unfortunately we now live too far away for our twice yearly visits. Edgey n Zoe (NZ)
Lack of good customer service
We had booked the holiday through Tui. We stayed from 11th June till 19th June. >Although we arrived late at night, we did not recieve a formal greeting. Walked into the hotel with a board stating our room number and wifi code. Key card was in the room with the room wide open. >Breakfast was continental but lacked most things you would expect, very poor quality. >Never knew we had to pay additional charges for air con which for the temperatures in Greece thought it would of come as standard. >Never knew we had to pay additional charges for safety boxes, leaving us nowhere to store our valuables. >Housekeeping Linen wasn’t changed for 2 days as they failed to do room on Saturday. They stated that rooms would not be cleaned on Sundays, yet when we returned to room on the Sunday it smelled of sewage with our balcony door left open (we was on ground floor with access to street- anyone could of walked in and helped themselves to our things.) We phoned help number for TUI and told by a gentleman named Bruno Correia quote ‘What you want me to do about it, just put a complaint in’. 3 hours phoned again and told that the advisor who spoke to me before would ring me. 20 minutes later Bruno Correia phoned me shouting over the phone telling me to go to reception and hung up. So I rang reception to be greeted with yet another person shouting at me to why I hadn’t came straight to them, I told her that I phoned TUI because I wasn’t at the hotel at the time and unsure of procedures, she shouted some more and slammed phone down on me. When arrived back at hotel 2 hours later indeed housekeeping had finally been done not completely but more acceptable. We didn’t appreciate the tone and abuse we received over the phone by all parties and all we was doing was seeking a solution, so yet again another day of upset and increased feelings of wanting just to go home. Complaints were made on the holiday and after over the phone, we then followed the Tui procedure of sending an email to the after-holiday care complaint. With a response where they dismissed what we told them and apparently didn't have a record of the phone calls we made. Although to a certain degree we enjoyed most part of our holiday we find the abuse and lack of customer service by the hotel unacceptable. This was our first time on holiday abroad as a couple, not by any means first time abroad. I have travelled to both sides of the world with my parents and although I admit a little naïve when it comes to procedures it still doesn’t rule out what I encountered as all the times I have travelled with my parents I have never come across anything like this before and to a certain degree ruined part of my holiday. We was so relieved to get home in the end. It does hold some good memories but unfortunately also bad ones.
