Me and my beautiful wife stayed here at the "Nana princess" for a week. The welcoming with Fredarica and tour was quick, friendly and helpful. She was helpful all week as well and and like all staff smiled all day and night and nothing was a chore. Then we had Elena looking after us and all everytime we went to 1 of the stunning restaurants and bars. Finally we had Kosta and Pela and entire team where crazy funny and helpful. My wife even made up a drink with there help...haha 😂 😂. Then there was the hotel....unbelievable and words don't describe it's beauty. Will be back and that's for sure
Amazing place!!! Must see :)
Everything was great from the arrival where Michalis took great care of us and helped us with every single request. The room was second to none, it s truly a top hotel. Wonderful beach, pool area, gym, spa section and the restaurant. Everything was just amazing at this place. Looking forward to come back.
Property and rooms 5/5 Food 3/5 Service 4/5 Spa 5/5 My husband and I stayed on this property for 3 nights in August. We were very impressed with the property and rooms. The property has great access to the beach, many lounge chairs with umbrellas at the beach and pool areas (there are 3 stunning pools, and another in the spa area), and everything is designed beautifully. All the rooms have private pools with all the outdoor amenities you’d need right on the terrace (ample seating area/lounge chairs, table, and an outdoor shower). The rooms are top notch, beautiful, comfortable, and very modern. The rain shower is amazing and the room is well designed. I could see it being featured in an architectural design magazine. Food: There are 3 restaurants on the property and all serve ‘international’ food. We ate at the Eternal Blue Fish restaurant our first night and the ‘tasting menu’ restaurant the second night. We opted to go into the nearby town for our third night for more local cuisine, which was amazing. The old town of Heronissos (only 10min by taxi) has some delicious local taverns with authentic food and it was definitely our best meal in Crete! We went to Harakas Taverna and highly recommend it. The Eternal Blue Fish restaurant on premises was good. They have sushi options and cooked fish, which we enjoyed (I ordered the salmon and my husband ordered the sea bass). For appetizers, we ordered the king crab roll and Greek salad. We were underwhelmed by the Greek salad (a deviation from a traditional Greek salad). Their interpretation of it was a few crushed cherry tomatoes and 3 small slivers of cucumber served flat on a plate with some oils and sauces. For our second night we went to the tasting menu restaurant, which was just OK. We enjoyed some of the appetizers (carrot soup and shrimp) but the entree fish was very bland and swimming in butter. (The other entree options were beef and vegetarian risotto). Overall we were disappointed that there were no Greek menu options in any of the three restaurants on premises. We would have liked some options for authentic, traditional Greek or Cretian food (Greek salad, tzaziki, etc) and nothing of this sort appeared on any of the menus. Without these options, it was like being at a beautiful resort anywhere with nice beaches, but nothing ‘Greek’ about this resort from the food perspective. Service: We thought the service gave a lot of effort and always with a smile, but fell short in a few ways (though not always their fault) but this still surprised us for a hotel of this caliber. In general it seems that the hotel is understaffed in the restaurant areas. The restaurants (Eternal Blue Fish restaurant and Meat) have over 30 tables but said they were at capacity at around 10 tables, which surprised us. We had long waits at both restaurants without reservations (30min-1hr). We didn’t know to make a reservation before arriving at the resort. Perhaps with additional staffing they could accommodate more of their guests during prime dinner hours given that they have the space, and lots of guests to accommodate (some of whom have the half board option). Again, I would highly recommend venturing off site to experience the delicious local cuisine! Another note about the resort: it seems very family friendly. Most of the guests here were young families, and the property and food choices (lots of basic ‘American’ food) would be great for young children. As a young couple without kids, we felt that they also accommodate adults traveling without children, having two adult pools and ample seating area around the beaches etc so you’re not sitting on top of the young families/kids if you don’t want to be. You will see kids at the restaurants, sometimes running around, but overall they seemed to be generally well behaved and didn’t bother us. Lastly, the spa is amazing, clean and modern - among the best I’ve ever been to. There are many treatment options, the spa therapists are great, and the facilities (including the gym) are exceptional. We would highly recommend the property and would come back, but would love to see some authentic Greek dining options.
Beautiful new hotel in Paradise
Staff were incredible, the rooms and location too. The only reason I don’t consider this hotel a true 5 star is based on food alone. It certainly wasn’t bad but not the Greek indulgence I was expecting. That being said, it wouldn’t stop me going back nor recommending to family and friends. x
A great hidden place of peace
We stayed in Nana Princes for six days only but it was absolute relax in quit and peace with a great helpful and kind staff. Btw big compliments to all staff and management, too. If you need anything special they will arrange it with a kind smile. I am going back for sure!
