Lyxigt men trist
Honeymoon in Beautiful Le Menara:)
Me and my husband have travelled all over Thailand more than 8 times, it's our favourite place to go:) so going thailand for 2 weeks on our honeymoon was the perfect choice. This was our favourite trip to Thailand so far, not because it was our honeymoon which made it extra special lol it was the most perfect location, peaceful, beaches were deserted, amazing views at the resort when eating your breakfast, beautiful part of khao lak, beautiful resort, service by staff was amazing, breakfast was yummy, swimming pool that never ended which was never busy...rooms beautiful, big, clean and the most comfortable bed me and husband have ever laid on, it was the most luxurious bed which you sink into and go to sleep without even realising lol am not joking, I called it the magic bed:) I would highly recommend sunsets on the beach and to eat at the local restaurant, because the hotel restaurant is pricey and the food is average...so, just opposite the hotel a restaurant called 'Bang Mor' it's a family owned restaurant with the most delicious homemade Thai menu, me & my husband ate twice a day for the first week lol I gained 1 stone on that holiday but it was worth it, the food is amazing, you must go there and you will be greeted by the most amazing family, lovely June hosted us daily and always gave us yummy desserts on the house, what amazing people:) also, my husband always hires a scooter easy to travel around the island, you can get a free shuttle from the hotel to Khao lak centre to rent a scooter, we paid 2,500 baht which is about £100 for two weeks, it's worth it, you save a fortune on taxis and plus you get to find hidden gems and perfect spots with the most breathtaking views) and those who want a break from thai food, kfc is about 30 mins away on the scooter in a shopping centre called C shopping:) Thai KFC is the best in my opinion lol...so, to sum up, if your looking for a peaceful, quiet, relaxing atmosphere and with the most stunning views this is the place for you. I would recommend to couples and families:) Me & my husband had the most beautiful honeymoon thanks to this stunning resort and beautiful Khao lak we will be back 100%:)
What an absolute treat. Fantastic hotel resort in an unbelievably tranquil and peaceful location on the beach, about 30 minutes drive from the bustling Khao Lak. We were chasing peace and quiet and found it. Our room (a Grand Deluxe villa) next to the pool was excellent, well appointed and had a big bathroom. It also had a huge private, furnished outdoor terrace with a sea view. (Rm 501 - a cracker). As other visitors have said in reviews, the pool is MASSIVE (120m I believe) and has plenty of sun beds and umbrellas. It leads to a lawn area with more beds etc and the pristine beach. Be sure to take a walk along the beach and enjoy the absence of people! The beach and pool staff were quick to bring towels, set up beds etc and the beach bar was great. The hotel has a very good restaurant and mixes things up each night with a food theme. Everything we had during our stay was excellent. The chef and his team clearly know what they’re doing and should be proud of their products. The front of house people were impressive - very attentive, friendly and professional whilst adding that Thai sense of fun to proceedings. It’s fair to say that the house wine could be better but “proper” labels are available if you want a change. Considering the isolation, it’s also worth pointing out that the bar and restaurant prices, whilst a little higher than “usual” Thai prices, were far from extortionate and there are happy hour options on offer to further improve value for money. There’s also a little bar/eatery (Bangmoh seafood) opposite to and separate from the hotel. This small family run business offers an excellent alternative to Le Menara should you so wish. Before arriving, we noted a number of off-putting reviews which criticised the cleanliness of the place, the staff and their language skills, the quality of the food and isolated location. Either the hotel management has acted on these criticisms very quickly (in which case, well done) or the reviewers were plain unlucky. Whatever the case, we found nothing to substantiate the complaints and concerns that had featured in these other reviews. Based on our experience, the place was spotless throughout, the staff may not have an extensive vocabulary but they had more than enough to get by, the food was consistently good and as for the location, people, READ the description. It isn’t a secret (though for us, it would be good if it was so things remain as good as they are). We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Le Menara to anyone looking for a good level of luxury, coupled with typically friendly and helpful Thai service, in an unspoilt, beautiful part of the world. It’s a great place to stay.
Exceptionally chilled getaway with the best chef from a 5-star hotel restaurant!!
This is a repeat visit for us. Le Menara is tucked away in North Khao Lak, a little away from the town centre with its own quiet strip of beach heaven. Fantastic location for those looking for a chilled getaway from the bustle of office/city life. Scenery is postcard perfect everywhere you turn. Rooms are spacious and service friendly. For swimming buffs, this one is for you, complete with an outdoors 120m pool one way (that’s more than double the usual Olympic sized pools). Imagine you’re in a lap of luxury amidst Castaway settings (that Tom Hanks movie, for those who know it), and you’re there. Even more notable is their head chef, Mana, at the hotel restaurant, L’Amore. He is an excellent chef, skilled across a range of local and international cuisines. Not only is his technique and execution world class, he consistently delivers wonderful dishes that accompany each other so well. He is also thoughtful, remembers your preferences and is very skilled at tailoring a menu to suit your palate on any given day. We have stayed at various different five- and six-star hotels around the globe and we would seriously return just to eat with him again!! Adore this scenic place - more so since they are now equipped with an incredible chef at their restaurant so you’d never have to venture far to get great food! P.S. As with anywhere else in Thailand, being insect repellent!
Stunning beach location, great food, secluded bliss!
We had a lovely 10-day stay at this resort. The amenities & staff were all amazing, especially Mana, the chef/kitchen manager. He is truly dedicated to his work, & it shows in the delightful food offered throughout our stay. The infinity pool is truly fabulous and the beachside lounge area delightfully shaded and so close to the pristine beach. We had some lovely beach walks & swims in the warm sea. The complementary Thai & foot massages were also most enjoyable & so relaxing. Our only reservation is how far this resort is from the main Kao Lak tourist strip. However, many would see this as an advantage as there are plenty of small fishing villages around to visit. It would perhaps be helpful if the free shuttle bus from the resort to Khao Lak ran, say, twice a day. We ended up hiring a car through Budget & returned it at Phuket airport when we left. The car hire experience was also first-class, with such delightful staff there as well. Altogether a relaxing stay and would recommend without hesitation.
