Mitt i centrum

Great location, great value modern hotel

Hotel is in a great location for accessing shops, bars, restaurants, trams, the castle and the waterfront. Modern and well furnished inside, maybe not to the taste of the SAGA coach trip that was there but very much appreciated by the ‘younger’ traveller. Seen a complaint about cleaning product smell in rooms, it was actually the Rituals products that are provided throughout, a nice touch. Buffet breakfast pretty good, it got pretty cramped in there when busy though. Overall excellent for a 3 star city centre hotel, very good value. Don’t be put off by people complaining about the views from the rooms, in tight city centre streets you invariably only ever see the building opposite, our room did have a narrow balcony that we could stand out on so ample to sail up some street atmosphere. We’ll be back in Lisbon soon and will look to book here again.

Great location, average accommodations

We stayed at this hotel for five days in early May. The hotel staff was very accommodating in honoring our request to have a room away from the lift and on an upper floor, the view from the room was great, we looked right up to the Castle. The accommodations were very comfortable, good bed, clean, and a great location. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot to be at, given the close proximity to public transport and the top neighborhoods we wanted to visit. The reason I’m not giving this hotel more stars are as follows: Hot room: The room had a Juliette balcony but no other windows. For 3 of the 5 nights there, our air conditioning did not work and it was quite warm and stuffy in the room. We did open the doors, but we had to deal with the noise of the recycling bins right below (e.g. 2 am bottles being tossed by locals and restaurants), trolley traffic in the morning, and general street noise. Cleaning: the room was clean when we arrived, but our room was not cleaned the first day after, and subsequent cleanings were mediocre at best. Staff: of the three front desk staff we interacted with, only one was polite. The rest seemed a bit arrogant and we’re not very friendly with our requests or inquiries

Well located but dark and dingy

This hotel is well located, close to the shopping areas and avenues that lead to the river front. However, we stayed 3 nights and it is just a depressing place. Virtually everything is painted black. There is no Bar or lounge area to relax in. Navigating the corridors is like being down a coal mine and our rooms small and incredibly dark. Breakfast is ok but pretty standard buffet fare. Can't believe that I have to use a Nescafe machine for my morning coffee. It was dire. I tried a Starbucks run one morning instead (and I dont' like Starbucks), but its just a bit too far.
