Lovely Room and area
Stayed here with my husband between 9th and 16th May 2022. The hotel is right on the beach and near to the town. We were given room 227 which is right off of reception. The room had no soundproofing so you could hear talking, people playing pool and whatever other noises throughout the night which made it very hard to sleep. The shower heads were both full of limescale and the temperature was very inconsistent, ranging from scorching to freezing without us adjusting it. Whether that was because we showered at times everyone else was or not it still is very unnerving. The room itself was gorgeous and had a fair amount of storage area, it would've been nice to have a seating area inside although we did have a lovely balcony which looked right out to the sea and pool and had a heater so that was good! The food was varied but the flavourings were questionable, baked beans but with dill and often runny especially. The themed buffets were interesting and we especially liked the Mediterranean one and anything coming off the grill as it was hot and always delicious. We got a 'packed lunch' on our penultimate day as we were going on a boat ride around the island but this was just small (stale) pastries, a whole tomato, half a cucumber (whole). We would've expected maybe some sandwiches or something easier to eat on the go! Also the hotel claims to have snacks available in the day but this is the same hard/stale pastries and 4 or 5 flavours of ice cream. The pool was lovely and the whole pool area was kept so clean, and we usually could get a deck chair. These were lovely especially the ones that overlooked the sea!! The step ladder into the pool were rocking as you stepped on them which felt unsafe but there were built in steps at the shallow end also. We paid around £420 each for all inclusive, shuttle and flights so obviously not expecting the world but there was lots of room for improvement. The beach is also very stoney and the sea drops off to be quite deep after a few (literally 2-4 from the shore) meters. But the sea is perfectly blue, the beach is clean and all the staff members were lovely. It was a well needed stay with gorgeous weather!!
Overall we had a nice stay in the Lutania Beach Hotel!
We enjoyed our stay in the Lutania Beach Hotel. Location: the location was great. It was right on the beach which is pebbly. There are two watersports stations on the beach. I'd recommend hiring a pedalo! There are some fish to be seen around the rocks if you like to snorkel. There is a bus stop just down the road which will take you to The Seven Springs, Lindos and Rhodes Town for very cheap. The town of Kolymbia is nice. There are a few large bars and you can always see any sport there. The local restaurants are good, I'd recommend Ouzaki, and there are lots of local places to get amazing, cheap gyros. Accomodation: The hotel room itself was fine. A little dated and minor issues such as slow drainage and no lock on the balcony door. There is also no air-con, just a fan. We were just about cool enough as we went at the beginning of the season but I'd imagine it gets stuffy later in the year. Pool Area: The pool is great and a lovely temperature. We did struggle to get sunbeds due to people putting their towels on them all day and then buggering off! Food and Drink: the drinks were great. We mainly stuck to the local beer which is very nice! Be aware you can only get cocktails and spirits in the evening here. Wine and beer is available all day. The food was ok, but not great. If you have a fussy partner or children then maybe not for you! My partner is very fussy and found he was limited in what he would eat as most things are in some kind of sauce or with vegetables. I'd like the food to school dinners. Staff: we found the staff helpful and overall friendly. Places to See: Bus to Lindos, Rhodes and Seven Springs- cheap and all worth a visit! Overall we would recommend the hotel for a cheap all inclusive.
Lovely Holiday
A lovely hotel and holiday, amazing staff, especially Alex the entertainer, he made the holiday so enjoyable. The hotel is in a perfect location, to the beach and the town, would definitely visit again.
Food let’s it down
The food and drink lets down what is otherwise a great hotel, location is fantastic, rooms are spacious and fairly clean if not dated, the place is definitely in need of some maintenance work and a lick of paint. In terms of drinks, the white wine tastes like port, the rose isn’t much better, there’s no red, the beer is drinkable, coffee is yellow, other than soft drinks there’s nothing else available until dinner time around 6.30
