A “rustic” feel hotel but lacking in service compared to a normal Hilton.

Located in the “new” souk district the access to the Dubai Creek area is great for walking tours or shopping in the gold souk, and the spice and market souks. Unfortunately, the hotel is splayed out over a large area. This is inefficient and lead to a lower service standard. Room service, laundry, and housekeeping required constant prompts to get done and was slow. Food delivered after a long wait was incorrect, and took multiple days to reverse this problem. Some of the staff were not very helpful. Due to the tourist area location some close restaurants were very loud until quite late at night. The rooms however are nice enough and of a cool rustic feeling. The breakfast buffet was great.

Lice!!!

My room was crawling with hundreds of book lice - they were all over the bed, walls, bathroom and my clothes. I notified the staff but they didn't seem surprised or concerned. I switched rooms but needless to say I got no sleep the first night. The hotel refused to refund the first night so now I will contest with my credit card company. Other issues: Service is what you might expect from a 2 star hotel, certainly a far cry from 5 star hotels in dubai. The rooms have no sound proofing so you will get noise from neighbours and the busy tourist streets below until 2 or 3 am. The first room also had a constant loud buzzing from outside, louder than the air con. Contrary to the hotel's list of facilities, the hotel has no pool or gym, you need to travel to another hilton. Breakfast is a mess if you arrive late. There aren't enough tables indoors so there are guests walking around with plates of food, ready to take your table as soon as you go for another round of food. There was a strong fish smell when leaving the bathroom lights on indicating serious electrical issues. The latch on the door would get stuck open and I think most guests would unwittingly leave their room unlocked.

Combination of tradition and modernity

This hotel has fantastic design that reminds you ancient times through modernity. However, the reception is not good enough, I had to call many times to access receptionists. Cleanness and breakfast was great.

Adorable hotel, nice and quiet, good sleep

What a lovely hotel! We stayed here a few nights for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. The hotel is adorable and in a good location right next to Dubai creek and near the heritage village. Even though there are shops below the hotel it was very quiet, the blackout shutters did their job and we slept well. We were always able to find a taxi right outside hotel reception if we wanted to go somewhere. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was great and had lots of variety.

Very Unique Hotel

I had a very quick stay here, arriving at night and leaving early in the morning, so I wished I could have stayed longer to experience this very unique hotel. It’s in the middle of Old Town, and the characteristics of the hotel are very creative. Even inside the room, the details are spot on. It can get confusing finding your room, so pay attention. The room was comfortable and clean. I had a very quiet rest. The breakfast had a good spread although no one even came up to me once, so I was in and out. No big deal!
